ABSTRACT: This study addresses gender equity in technical education programs, aiming to identify barriers, opportunities, and strategies for promoting gender equality in traditionally male-dominated vocational fields. The objectives were to (1) analyze current gender disparities in technical education enrollment, retention, and career progression, (2) explore factors influencing gender equity in vocational training, and (3) propose interventions to enhance gender inclusivity in technical education. A survey research design was utilized to gather data from students, educators, and policymakers, examining their perspectives on gender equity issues and strategies for improvement. The sample size comprised 250 participants, selected through purposive sampling to include diverse gender representations and vocational disciplines across Nigeria. The case study focused on Edo State, recognized for its efforts in promoting gender equality and inclusive educational policies. Findings indicated persistent gender disparities in technical education, including unequal access to resources, career stereotypes, and workplace discrimination. Effective strategies included promoting female role models, implementing gender-sensitive policies, and providing supportive environments for female students. Recommendations included integrating gender equity initiatives into vocational curricula, offering mentorship programs for female students, and collaborating with industry to create inclusive work environments.
